Mitsubishi Minicab MiEV

The i-MiEV was the world’s first modern highway-capable mass produced electric car. The second Mitsubishi new-generation electric vehicle is a light commercial vehicle

Based on the original MiEV concept, it was developed by Mitsubishi to address the challenges facing automobiles, such as environmental pollution and depletion of petroleum energy, and of course the ever looming cessation of fossil fuel internal combustion engines.
The minicab MiEV is a light commercial electric vehicle developed using the technology and know-how gained from the original i-MiEV This little vehicle ticks so many boxes, it is truly incredible.
It is 100% electric, so meets all the onset of ULEZ zones, and associated charges being rolled out around the country.
It is £0 road tax of course, and the running costs are incredibly low. The rear is spacious, with a generous load area, but built into the floor is a bench seat which flips up to make it a passenger vehicle.
The turning circle is phenomenal, as it is designed for the congested streets of Japan.
It has a CHAdeMO fast charging port on one side, and a type 1 port on the other side.
It can be charged using: 1) a domestic 3pin socket 2) a type 2 cable at home or at a charging station 3) using a CHAdeMO fast charger.
The only downside to it is the range. It has around just under a 50 mile range between charges. This doesn’t seem a lot, but never was designed to be a long distance motorway cruiser. We have found it more than enough, and only charge it every few days, even though we use it every day. You also have to bear in mind we live in Yorkshire on the Pennines, and our hills are “proper” hills.
Running around a city all day would be far less taxing.
Then there is the size, it is pocket sized, so not only draws attention, but can be parked almost anywhere, and fits into spaces and gaps no other vehicle would.
It is so unique, it turns heads wherever it is driven – as it whispers along the streets.
It has 3 modes, “Drive” where it will easily keep up with the flow of traffic, “Eco”, where the power is limited and “Braked”, where the forward motion is converted back to electricity and directed back into the battery.
The possible usages of this are limitless. We have been using it daily – especially handy during the current fuel crisis.
Oh, and being from Japan, the condition is as new, no rust or corrosion whatsoever. It is fully registered, all duties and taxes have been paid, and it’s ready to go.

Japan also has a very high standard when it comes to ongoing repairs and general upkeep, and their MOT or Shaken is both expensive and scrupulously thorough.
